Purchase: I purchased these boots from The Equine Shoppe in Poulsbo, WA. I paid $550.
Likes: I was looking for a nice, high end field boot without spending over $1000. I liked the high spanish cut top that elongated my leg. The technology and reputation of Ariat confirmed my decision to give these boots a shot.
Dislikes: Well after riding in these boots probably 10 times the seam by the zipper by my ankle began to split! I was going to return them to Ariat, which is what my tack store told me to do. However, I had a big horse show I was going away for and decided to bring them to a local boot repair store who did the repair for under $ 10 in ten minutes. If the stitching does not hold up ...I am definitely sending them back to Ariat. $600 boots should not have seams that split!
Quality: Other than the seam splitting, I really like them. My local tack store also told me that they had some problems with the quality of leather on some of these boots. Luckily, I am happy with my leather so far.
Summary: Ariat is a pretty reputable company and my tack store assured me that they would stand behind the product. I just hope my boots hold up in terms of the workmanship.
The fit is excellent--I have the fit of a customer boot for half the price.
