Purchase: I bought these boots online at equineperformanceproducts.com, I paid $135.
Likes: What I like most about them is that my Horse seems to love them very much. He seems very upset when he has to go out on the trail without them. They come in a size large enough to fit his huge feet. They are very easy to put on and take of and they do look pretty cool!
Dislikes: Well, unfortunately, they have come undone several times. It started after only 3 trailrides, the lacing system would come undone for no reason! I sent them back to Easycare for inspection (they were very nice), they changed out the dials and it worked fine for a while.
Now it started happening again, seems like grass and debris get caught behind the dial and pushes it open. Now I only use them on rocky trails, leave them off otherwise, not an ideal situation!
Quality: The Boa Boots are constructed out of some sort of vinyl material. It seems they would hold up through many miles if they would just stay on my horse!!! They cost about the same as other hoof boots. The lacing system cnsists of a dial and some metal "string", you turn the dial to tighten the laces which tightens the boot around your horses foot. Very easy.
Summary: I really wish this boot would stay on! I can't fully recommend it because of the problems I am having with them, however I do believe if you ride on roads, gravel, groomed trails or in the arena or if you are just looking for something to ease the transition from shoes to barefoot they would probably be fine. I will continue using them, but I will suggest a design change to the manufacturer, since this boot has so many good features.
