Purchase: I bought the book over the net because it looked interesting to me,great front cover. It cost $16.95 total.
Likes: This is a really cool book! I finished it over the weekend and could hardly put it down.It gets you involved with all the kids right off the bat,and even tho it's less than 300 pages, you get a pretty strong, indepth 'why they do what they do' feeling right from the start. I loved all the horses,especially Benny, and how they relate to their kids, and everyone should be lucky enough to have Karen as their trainer. It's a whimsical book with a nice mingling of laughter and tears, happy tears mostly and a feeling that everything is going to work out fine in the end.Hated to put it down.
Dislikes: I wished it'd been longer, but at least with the next book in the series due out soon, I won't have to wait too long. I'm on their list of advanced sales!
Other than that I had no problems.It might be advanced for novice riders but you learn so much, it's like a manual in parts.
Quality: I loved the front cover of Angel and Blair at Del Mar. It's exciting to know that she is a real horse and to see her in the flesh is a kick. Top quality paperback.
Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed SHOWTIME! and have already passed it on to a friend.It's hard to find a fiction book that is so accurate and detailed in riding and horse show related areas, and it's impossible to find a manual with a horse story included.You get both in this book. Although geared to an older reader and is much more complex and sophisticated, it reminds me of the Saddle Club series. Highly recommended
