Purchase: This pad is available exclusively online at www.tackwholesale.com. I bought this as a trail pad because I liked the half fleece back and the good-sized pockets. At $29.50, I was also pleased with the price.
Likes: Very sturdy and well made. Good, heavy weight and quality cotton quilted fabric with nice fleece lining along top for extra padding on the horses' back. You won't need another back protector pad with this one. The pockets are big with strong velcro closures. I carry a hoof pick, vetwrap, extra leadshank and an extra snap and can still fit a small water bottle and a snack in just ONE of the 2 pockets!
Dislikes: It's bulky to wash in a standard washing machine but it can be done. Also, on mine, a small part of the tubing inside the gold piping trim started to poke through. I cut it off and sewed the small hole closed and it has been fine since.
Quality: Saddle pad is made from heavy weight good quality cotton quilted fabric with a half fleece padded underside. An 8" x 8" x 1-1/2" pocket on each side of this saddle pad is a convenient place to store items while riding. Pocket has a velcro closure. Total 19" fleece padding. Washes and machine dries well with no shrinkage and minimal if any fading.
Summary: Excellent quality and durable trail pad!
