Purchase: I called and talked to Janette from SaddleRight and made my order over the phone. I paid $279 for the pad and a liner.
Likes: Janette from SaddleRight is a wealth of information. She explained to me why my horse had been stumbling, how to ensure my saddle was setting in my horse's center of gravity, and how to make sure my saddle fit right.
I rode my pad for the first time last night at a barrel race. I've had my horse for just over a year and yesterday was the first time that he didn't have dry spots behind his withers when I removed the saddle. He also ran harder than he has been. I can't wait to get home and ride to see more improvement.
Another thing that really sold me on this pad was the no risk, 30 day, money back guarantee. If you don't like it after 30 days, send it back for a full refund. The pad also comes with a lifetime, no compression guarantee. The only thing that will ever need to be replaced is the outside covering. The new cover is all that you pay for. They make a new pad to your specifications and when you receive it, you send them your old one back; that way your horse doesn't have to go without his pad.
Dislikes: If I had to pick something that I don't like about the pad, it would have to be the price.
But when you think about this being the last saddle pad you ever buy and the fact that I was in the market for a $1500 saddle before I found this pad, it doesn't seem so expensive.
Quality: The pad is very well made and beautiful. As I said before, I purchased the western felt pad and selected "english toast" for the wear leathers. It looks great.
Summary: Bottom Line: If you have a horse with behavioral problems, that is stumbling, or anything else that might be caused by saddle fit, give this pad a try. You have nothing to lose!
