Purchase: I got this saddle at a local tack store. I paid $1,299.
Likes: I liked the ease of adjusting the stirrups. I liked the rigging options and the leather was very soft. I didn't think I would like the nylon cinch but it turns out that I like it better. It lays nice and is soft (less likely to rub the horse) it also adds to the lightness of the saddle. I can’t imagine it lasting as long as leather though. I like how the saddle moves with the horse when I ride – However, its comfort varies depending on the horse. I have a very rough horse I ride that will never be able to collect himself due to conformation problems and this saddle only adds to the discomfort of ridding him because it picks up his movement. On the other hand I have a show horse I ride with it that moves like a dream and I feel like I am on the couch.
Dislikes: I am six feet tall and the stirrups are on the last hole – so if you are under six feet this is a good saddle, but if you are over six feet the stirrups might not fit you. Also I have tried starting my 2 year old with this saddle and because it is so light it moves all over the place w/out a rider when I lunge him – a rear cinch helps some, but then it’s just jerking up on his stomach. I would not recommend this saddle for starting horses, go with something a bit more solid.
Quality: Good - some things could be done w/more care. Because the leather is so soft I am not sure how well it will age.
Summary: This is a nice looking comfortable saddle. I think it could be fantastic for the right situation, but it is not as versatile as I was lead to think.
