Purchase: I found this on eBay, and paid an unbelievable $145 US. It was brand new, with the tags still on it. This coat retails for about $400 US here.
Likes: This is a four-button dressage coat, and a bit dressier than the typical three-button hunt coats for those more formal shows. It has three inside pockets, one that zips, for all of that "stuff" that you think you need to take with you to the ring (like copies of your test to review just before you go in the ring!) It's very difficult to find men's show attire (95% of the market is female, I'm told), and the quality is usually not always the best. Pikeur has hit one out of the park with this coat!
Dislikes: There really isn't anything I don't like about it. I suppose that if I had to pay full US retail for it, the price would have been a drawback, but if you keep your eye on eBay you can find a good bargain now and then.
Quality: The workmanship is outstanding, and the cut fits perfectly. They haven't missed a single detail, and the material (all wool, except for the lining) is outstanding.
Summary: If you're serious about dressage, this is the obvious choice for anything below "shad belly levels". I suspect that the women's version is probably of equal quality.
