Purchase: I bought my Circle Y barrel saddle at the Feed Store on 192 in Melbourne FL in 1995 for $750.
Likes: I have used this saddle extensively in the 10+ years I have had it. I used it for barrel racing for a couple years but then I quit barrel racing and began riding a little slower but have never stopped riding in the saddle. I have broken at least 5 horses in this saddle, I have ridden in it though water and in rain. And after all this time it is still in good repair, and I still get compliments on it.
Dislikes: From about 6 months old the concho that holds the "keeper" on actually fell off and I lost the "keeper". I tried to get a new one but the manufacturer had stopped making that model and I could not get a matching concho.
Quality: Construction and quality are wonderful! My saddle has been through a lot but the leather is still healthy and the saddle is still so comfortable.
Summary: Circle Y makes a great saddle that will last years and years, the barrel saddle I have is very comfortable and is my saddle of choice to trail ride in as well as to school my western pleasure horses in.
