Purchase: My 18 yr old mare had been limping off and on for no apparent reason for a few years. I called my vet and he diagnosed her with arthritis and recommended I put her on Adequan shots. I was quite leery of this product, as it is expensive ($56.00 a shot) but nothing else was working for her, so I decided to give it a try.
Likes: Unbelievable results! It truly seems like a miracle! She has been on a once a month shot for two years now and the only time she has limped was my fault as I tried to go for a longer period of time between shots to save money. Once I started back on a once a month shot, no more limping.
Dislikes: The cost definitely is a problem, but my horse has a wonderful quality of life that she would not have otherwise.
Quality: Comes in a vile like any other medication that you administer with a syringe. You need a vets prescription.
Summary: I highly recommend this product for any of you who have joint/arthritic problem horses. I believe the supplemental forms of glucosamine that you can feed to horses is a waste of money. This product is expensive, but well worth it as I can use my mare with no worries.
