Likes: The most comfortable saddle for both horse and rider. I've owned saddles priced from $200 to $2000 both wooden and flex tree. Tex-tan, Tucker, Simco and off-brands and the Imus fits me and my gaited horse better than any other brand. That includes a custom built Eli Miller. The Eli fits my horse great but is not near as comfortable for me. The seat has thick padding that is supportive so you don't "bottom out," but you can ride all day even in a horse that has a little bit of a "Pacey" gait. The wide tree does fit a WIDE horse. I can also ride in a fairly thin pad to minimize slipping on my mutton whithered horse and he is still comfortable. Brenda Imus has designed padding in the skirt for the horse too. And a Flex tree also. I love the endurance type rigging if you choose to use it - and I recommend that you do. I do extreme trail riding an the saddle just plain stays in place. I ride in the unit with a horn as I hang lots of stuff from it.
Dislikes: This unit is heaver than most saddles of it's type. Tooling is the "4 Beat" logo. you can view it at www.gaitsofgold.com. Add-ons rather expensive. .
Quality: QUALITY says it all. Very thick leather and quality construction - probably why the saddle is so heavy. This saddle will out live you and your horse.
Summary: I've owned about 13 saddles and have sold all but two to move to the Imus'. Try ebay before buying from the gaitsofgold site - worth the wait if you can't afford a new one.
Usefulness Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
