Model: Leg Bands (View all Leg Bands reviews)
Category: Fly Control
Purchase: Mail order, about $20
Likes: The concept, which was to keep flies off a horse's legs to reduce stomping.
Dislikes: I live in western Mass and at the beginning of summer put the bands on all 4 feet of my horse. Within 1 week, the skin under the bands on my my horse's rear feet had blistered very badly (front feet were fine) and the skin & hair sloughed off entirely leaving a red raw area which took several weeks of treatment to restore to normal.
Quality: The bands stayed on well with velcro.
Summary: Perhaps this product might work in an arid climate, but where there is humidity and/or dampness, use the product with extreme caution.
Usefulness Rating: 2.57143 out of 5.
