Purchase: Bought from a local tack shop who carries only Ariat, for around $75 (on sale). I was in need of half chaps, and they didn't carry Tredsteps.
Likes: Fit - they are long enough.
Dislikes: QUALITY. The snap at the bottom of the zipper does NOT snap. Several friends have also noted this problem. Also, they wore out after 4 months of use by an amateur rider (approximately 1 hour of use per day). I contacted my tack shop, and Ariat; both assured me that replacing them would not be a problem. WRONG - I sent them back to Ariat, at my own expense, only to be told that "The chaps show exposure to water/sweat". Well, no wonder, having been contact with A HORSE! Who would have guessed that they sweat when you ride them?
Quality: POOR.
Summary: Spend the extra few dollars, and stick with Tredsteps. There is no comparison in quality. Expect 4 YEARS use from Tredsteps; far better than 4 MONTHS from Ariat!!!
