I was tired of fly masks literally tearing beyond repair and falling apart.
I saw a Crusader on another horse.
From a distance, I could see the
workmanship was so much different than
most fly masks and it's true!
Likes: FINALLY--a mask that stays on the horse's head. HOORAY! Doesn't fall shreds!
Darts in mesh keep fabric away and off
the eyes. The ears haven't torn yet.
I own one w/and one w/o ears and they have both lasted more than a year without needing replacement.
The different fabric panels allow for a more
contoured fit. The masks don't shift
{so the ear isn't sticking out of the
opening for the forelock!}
Neutral gray and black color scheme
coordinates with the latest shades
in fly sheets.
Machine washable, holds up well in the dryer too.
Dislikes: There could be better reinforced stitching
on the velcro strap where it attaches
to the mask itself. I have had to mend
this on more than one occasion where it
has come partially loose.
I would like to see more of the loop
velcro fabric where the strap attaches
to allow for a fit that is more snug.
Quality: The mask is made of different fabric panels:
mesh over the eye area, fabric panels
on forehead and cheeks, piping on edges
and around ear holes, nylon over ears.
A large velcro strap secures the mask
under the throat latch.
Available with and without ears,
with or without an extended mesh
nose panel. All sizes available, from
foal to Draft, also Mule/Donkey ears
available.
This mask holds up to extremely
vigorous wear.
Summary: Don't waste your money on any other fly
mask!
