Purchase: I purchased them from the SmartPak Website for 139.99. When I went to Kentucky Spring 2006 everyone had Tredsteps. All the vendors were carrying them too so they were a "hot" item. Since I'm a nerd I saw an opportunity to look cool around my barn.
Likes: I want chaps that prevent chafing. Isn't that their purpose. You can get such a custom fit with Tredsteps so your jeans aren't rubbing you anywhere while you ride. They are so form fitting that you can really feel your horses side under your leg. Not to mention I was so cool in my barn because no one knew about them until I brought them there :D They look cool and the work.
Dislikes: No complaints other than I had to pay more than I ever did for chaps before. But now that I'm a more advance rider I can appreciate how well these chaps work and look.
Quality: The chaps are so form fitting i thought the zipper would go in a month. But they are still going strong and don't look like they will have any problems or wear. The snaps on the top and bottom are very durable so I'm not worried about breaking them anytime soon. The leather is gorgeous and looks brand new with some saddle soap and leather conditioner.
Summary: I used to look for a Tredstep symbol on other's chaps but now I can tell them from a mile away. They stay looking new for a long time. They don't sag and bunch up. They make your leg look very neat. They are definitely a regular on the A circuit so they make you look cool at your local barn.
