Purchase: I have always liked the smell of this fly spray, kind of like Lestoil. It smells clean not like kerosene like some of the other brands. The concentrate goes a long way. You can mix it different strengths depending on what kind of bugs you are trying to repel. I paid $19.95 for a qt in the American Livestock Supply, Inc. catalog.
Likes: I like the smell, the way it really works too. If you mix it 7-1 you can still kill the stable flies and the barn smells great when you are done. You can tell it works because if you make the mistake of filling your water buckets first then spraying around the Repel-X, come back in a little while and there are a hundred dead flys in your buckets!
Dislikes: I don't like the fact that my Arabian horse looked like she had chemical burns on her after I used it. I've always used it on many horses but she must be very sensitive {chestnut} because I stopped and she was better and a few weeks later used it again and she had bad bumps everywhere I sprayed it. Then of course the flies liked her even better.{ But my bay horse and black horse were fine, go figure!
Quality: It comes in a plastic bottle and the cover has a child proof feature, which is hard to open. {For safety} It has all the directions on the back and the different dilutions listed, from mosquitoes, flies etc to deer ticks. {Which is what we have in my area}
Summary: I still like it a lot, I just have to use a different one on my Arabian.
