Manufacturer: Team-S
Model: Dressage Saddle
Category: Dressage Saddles
Purchase: I acquired this saddle from a website for a fairly decent price. It came with a few extras and for me that was good (seeing as I had never owned a saddle before). I wanted an all around unit which I could use for schooling, training and teaching lessons.
Likes: For the money it was a great saddle. The snaffle bridle that came along with it was far too large for the half arab I was training but that is no fault of theirs as it was advertised as a full-size. The leather was quality, not the best but definitely good. It was partially synthetic but cleaned up really good with a glycerine soap. The seat was not close contact but was closer then the wintec 500 I was using before and for the price I could not complain. It was wonderful for teaching students as the seat was small enough and it provided enough security to allow them to sit well but without compromising their developing leg. I used this for my 8 year old brother who had never ridden before and he was able to sit the trot fairly well. The seat is more comfortable then every other saddle Ive ridden so I don't have anything to say to that respect.
Dislikes: The saddle discolours slightly from wear, turning a dark chocolate brown, however, it is not noticeable as your leg covers it. The girth that came with this saddle was not good at all, I bought a gel girth and it worked great. It was a wonderful starter saddle and now I am moving on to an Albion Legend (HUGE jump) so I cant really complain at all.
Quality: After one year of fairly hard use I noticed no stitching that was loosening and only slight discolouration. A cat scratched the leather on the top and chipped some of the leather off the bottom of the skirt. however, aside from some minor pocking on the top of the saddle the leather has stayed strong and I cant complain. I used it for long hacks and it did not scratch even once.
Summary: Bottom line. It was easily worth twice what I paid for it considering some of the other POS saddles you can get for way more. It beat my wintec 500 hands down and cost a fraction of the price. Unbeatable in teaching lessons as I'm not too concerned about it wearing. Works for lower level dressage shows and fits arabians well (a hard feat).
Will recommend to anyone as a starter saddle.
