Dressage Bridle (Padded)
English Bridles

Manufacturer: Collegiate
Model: Dressage Bridle (Padded)
Category: English Bridles

Purchase: I paid about $90 USD at State line tack for this bridle, acquired because the bridle that came with my saddle did not fit the horse I was training. I needed something with a flash that had the capability to move from horse to horse and be used in shows.

Likes: Beautiful leather! The colour is perfect and after a year of hard use on several horses there is no discolouration or cracks and the leather is beautifully soft. The padding works well and helps to keep the horse comfortable, which is especially important when training a horse to supple to the bit. The keepers work very well at keeping the bridle professional looking (despite other reviews of a similar product) and in general it is just a great product for the money.

Dislikes: The bridle is much larger then a standard cob-sized bridle, I had to trim the leather and put in several more holes in order to make it work, however, the bridle was very accommodating and I have experienced no problems with it. The reins were exceptionally long for the half-arabians I was training and they end up hanging halfway down the saddle when I get him in a good frame. However, perhaps these would better fit a larger animal?!?!?! Looks beautiful on most horses and easily looks more expensive then some of the stubben bridles I have seen used.

Quality: WONDERFUL! I cant rave enough about the construction of this bridle, one year of hard use and transfers from one hole to another for different sizes and it shows very little (if any wear). The leather is soft and broke in quite quickly! Easily worth twice what I paid for it!

Summary: I am very happy with this bridle. I was able to use it on a 14.2 hh Welara gelding and have it fit him (with a few adjustments) and on a 15.3 hh Saddlebred Arabian cross (with a much larger head) and have it fit him easily. Shows little wear and seems extremely comfortable for the horse. Well worth the money.
