Purchase: I bought this MW rug 3 years ago for 120.00 pounds at our local tack store and it's the best rug I've ever had! (I've bought 2 other FAL rugs since... they are expensive but well worth the price)
Likes: It doesn't slip and has never leaked (washed and reproofed twice). My horse has narrow shoulders and all other rugs used to slip back and to the sides. FAL is a perfect fit! The rug is worn 24 hours (day: turnout, night: stall). The horse is always warm and dry even in the worst rainstorms. The rug even stays put in bad winds!
During the very cold winter season I use another (heavyweight) rug. This one is perfect in fall and spring. Or as winter rug for an unclipped horse.
Dislikes: I bought the rug with detachable neck cover. The zips still work great - no complaint about that. I just hardly ever take the cover off. The extra weight and the seams at the neckline 'break off' parts of the mane. No rub signs though and it doesn't seem to bother the horse.
Quality: Excellent outer shell (no wear or tear after 3 years in use). The lining is great - coat always shiny and no rub signs anywhere. Really quite amazing, considering the many brands I've gone through over the last 20 years!
Summary: Excellent, highly recommended rug. Well worth the price, especially for 24 hour wear. I would not get a detachable neck version again as I hardly take advantage of it. The other versions are cheaper too.
