Purchase: I purchased this saddle on an online auction from a reputable tack seller for $349.00 plus shipping. I was looking for a decently made saddle for under $500.00. I knew I wanted an Australian saddle and this fit the bill.
Likes: The leather is of good quality, and it is pretty to look at. It has nice tooling on the sweat flaps, and in general has a nice look to it.
Dislikes: This saddle has aged quickly. The gullet has started to spread, the stuffing in the panels has gotten very lumpy, I have found tacks in the tree working loose and poking out, and I feel like the saddle parts are moving about as I am riding; like they have loosened. The fenders were so long and there was not any way to adjust them for my 5'4" frame other than cut them away. The stitching is coming loose on the horn. I have maybe 20 rides on this saddle.
Quality: OK quality materials, very poor construction.
Summary: This saddle looks very nice, but I was deceived. It is virtually falling apart in just 8 months of light use. Neither company wants to help me, so I am $375.00 poorer with no hope of recouping. I realize this saddle was not the quality of a more expensive brand, but my pocketbook only goes so far. That does not excuse this kind of poor workmanship. I purchased a previous saddle from an online auction for less money and it is still going strong. It just doesn't fit the horse I have now.
