Purchase: A booth at Equine Affaire in MA in 2004
I think I paid $549...but that was when they were brand new, they are cheaper now.
Likes: They are beautiful boots and come in many different size combinations. They are elegant and have a pretty spanish top. The elastic laces are great and neat looking (you don't need them because there are zippers) The zipper is sturdy and the Cobalt technology is very comfortable, you don't feel like your walking around in field boots.
Dislikes: The "close contact" panel on the inside of the calf does no good, unless you like to feel your horse's sweat coming through your boots! The elastic gusset on the top is very worn out already (pieces of piping from the edge of the leather have fallen off)
I suggest not buying the taller height when you are trying them on, the zipper reduces a lot of the breakdown near the ankle so they stay at about the same height as when the were new. The salesperson where I bought these told me the taller the better because they drop(mine are now a bit too tall for me causing them the bunch behind me knee)
* because of the spanish top you can get away with the boot not being at tall
Quality: Not as great quality as i would expect from Ariat. The inside of the calf is already very worn and has turned brown (this is only after 1-1/2 of use only at events not for everyday riding)
i hate the elastic gusset it looks messy
Summary: A good fitting boot of decent quality (just a few things need to be improved)
Very comfortable boot!
