Jumping Saddles

Manufacturer: Beval
Model: World Cup
Category: Jumping Saddles

Purchase: I purchased this saddle from Foxwood Saddlery in Tampa, FL for around $1800.

Likes: I own the regular tree, regular flap length in a 16". I like this saddle better than the most of the others by Beval because it has a flatter seat and more forward flaps. It's ideal for a more secure rider in the big jumpers because you have don't feel "trapped" in your saddle, (like the Natural) but the forward flaps easily accommodate the shorter stirrups needed for riding bigger jumps. The World Cup also offers more feeling through the saddle than others that I've ridden in. It doesn't feel like you're riding in a Lazy Boy, which I like.

Dislikes: The only thing that bothers me about mine is that the seat darkened kind of strangely. The rest of it is a nice dark color, but the seat still has some orange-ness to it. My sister has the same saddle and it darkened just fine, so it might just be mine or the way I oiled it at first. It does take a lot of break-in time, but that goes for any saddle.

Quality: I've had it for six years now and the stitching and billits have worn very nicely. I haven't had to have any repairs on it yet, and the flocking and tree are still in great shape. I ride everything in it and it fits the vast majority of horses and ponies. It is the extremely high quality I expect from Beval.
