Purchase: I got this saddle for my birthday 2 years ago at a local tack store. It was about $1800, tax included.
Likes: This saddle still looks gorgeous and has the "new saddle" smell it had when I first got it. It is a regular tree and fits my Thoroughbred and my QH. I have very long legs, and the X-Long flap fits me very well. It is a well balanced saddle, and the leather is very, very nice, regardless of the bad rap Pessoa leather gets.
Dislikes: After having the saddle for a year and a half, the stitching on the flap came undone on one side. It was easily fixed, and the man who restitched it said, "Saddles aren't made right anymore."
Quality: The saddle is well balanced, has padded flaps and a pencil knee roll, and is made of quality leather. It fits well and is comfortable to ride in for hours. Despite the stitching troubles, it has otherwise held up nicely to daily use.
Summary: I would recommend the Pessoa to people looking for a comfortable, functional saddle under $2000.
