Purchase: I bought this new and custom fitted for $2,600. I saw their ad in Dressage Today and was tired of trying so many saddles. Prestige, Passier, Ansur, so I went custom.
Likes: I love the buffalo hide and won't ride in any other, combined with my deerskin breeches I won't come off. The stirrup bars are placed under me so that you don't fight your leg anymore and they did an excellent job fitting it to my horse. He has narrow high withers with a broad back and they made sure there was enough stuffing in all the right places.
Dislikes: I was surprised to see a only a slit for the stirrup leathers.
Quality: After trying saddles from $300 to $3,000 this looks to me like a top end model. The stitching is so fine you don't even see it. The leather is just fabulous.
Summary: The customer service was second to none, I was intimidated because I didn't know the first thing about flap, size, tree, etc, etc. Most other companies had no patience for someone who doesn't know exactly what they want especially in that price range. They were very good with me and made me feel as an important customer even as a lower level rider. When it had to be adjusted again, they took my new tracing and compared it to my old file and it fit perfectly again.
