Likes: Some nice features and decent leather quality for the money.
Dislikes: Customer service is HORRIBLE! When I found VINYL backing on straps, on what was advertised as an ALL leather harness, I e-mailed Ron with my concerns. I received a very irate and unprofessional e-mail response! The e-mail stated that these mass produced straps where provided to them from another manufacturer. He claimed that not all of these faulty straps used on their harnesses were caught. I made a phone call to Ron to see about getting these straps replaced. I was met with a most irate, unprofessional, and extremely rude attitude.
Ron's website makes claims of "service after the sale", but this is false. Obviously, this is a person that doesn't appreciate his customers. I don't believe that he ever intended on NOT using these cheapy straps he claims he got "stuck" with, as more care would have been taken in making sure they didn't get used on his harnesses.
Quality: Decent quality leather, not the finest quality available, but not the "cardboard" type of pressed leather either. Hardware is of fair quality. A bit pitted and dirty, but better than a bunch of Conway buckles. The design of the saddle is nice, the breastcollar well padded but not elegant in shape and style, nicer neckstrap than most harnesses of this price range, more care could have been taken to make sure that straps were cut to actually FIT through some of the buckles. The shaft loop straps were the ones covered in vinyl that cracked after just a couple of uses; but the rest of the strap is leather with nylon webbing center. The browband on the bridle is very pretty, the blinkers very nice.
Summary: You can get a decent quality harness from Rons, but DO NOT expect quality customer service! If you happen to get a harness with faulty parts, expect to take your losses! This guy has anger management issues!
