Purchase: I purchased this saddle in September 2006 from Ansur for $2500.
Likes: It's light and has a gullet, unlike the Classic.
Dislikes: The stirrup bars are set so far forward that it's impossible to sit correctly (with alignment from shoulder, hip, ankle) in the saddle, even on a saddle rack. Rear wedge pads slide you forward onto the pommel.
Quality: The saddle is of medium quality American leather. The leather on the front is tacked on with a plastic rivet that popped out during shipping, and has proven impossible to fix at home. It's a cheap-looking and acting saddle.
Summary: No idea what Ansur was thinking. This saddle is intended for upper level work, but is impossible to sit in correctly.
