Purchase: I bought a Timberline Sidekick LE for my husband this past January. I bought it from Saddleoutfitters.com and paid $1995.00.
Likes: I bought a Timberline Sidekick LE for my husband this past January. He was having troubles with hip pain from too wide of twist on his previous trail saddle. His hip pain went away almost immediately after riding in this saddle because the twist is narrow enough not to strain the hip joint. I have since been riding in this saddle myself and love the security I feel from it. It has a deep seat and a fairly high cantle to really keep me in the saddle even when my horse gets squirrely on the trail. The tree is wide enough that it fits our wide bodied Spotted Saddle Horse with the short/round back.
Dislikes: I can't find anything I don't like about the saddle. Every horse we have put it on loves it too.
Quality: The leather is very nice quality, a lot like the original Ortho-flex saddle company used to use. The tooling and stitching are very good. I would say they have excellent workmanship and very good quality control standards.
Summary: I am planning to buy a Timberline Sidekick for myself now. I would recommend this saddle to anyone who has been experiencing hip pain or difficulty fitting certain types of horses backs.
