Jumping Saddles

Manufacturer: M. Toulouse
Model: Celine
Category: Jumping Saddles

Purchase: I bought this saddle at The Riding Shop on Long Island for $900 about a year and a half ago. It was time for a new saddle (I have an old Phase IV that I love) and The Riding Shop had started carrying this saddle. The owner, a good friend of mine, said that she had been selling a lot of these saddles lately and suggested it to me. I took it for a trial ride and fell in love with it.

Likes: I love how it fits my horse, and, since he has a bit of a bad back, I love how it's comfortable for him. Since I've been riding in it he hasn't pinned his ears back when I put it on his back, as he used to with other saddles he was ridden in. The knee rolls are perfect, and the seat is SUPER comfortable. When I ride int his saddle I feel like I'm not going anywhere, just sittin' on a cloud.

Dislikes: basically the only thing I don't like is that the stitching on the flap above the stirrup leathers has started to wear, but that's to be expected when you school several different horses six days a week at two different barns.

Quality: This saddle is made out of good, quality cowhide. Scratches and scuffs just buff out with a rag and it looks like new! The shape of the seat and knee rolls also offer a sense of security.

Summary: The Celine is a great saddle for a lot of reasons. It's comfortable for me and my horse and easy to take care of. I've ridden in it in the rain and it has stayed water spot free. It's been through everything and still survived and in perfect shape.
