Purchase: I bought this on Ebay for $500 in demo condition. I think it retails for about $1000-$1200, so I got a great deal. I really needed a new saddle because my old one was too narrow for the horses I rode and it did not fit me right.
Likes: Its a beautiful saddle to look at. It looks like a much more expensive saddle, but it does not look generic like HDRs or Pessoas. The leather is very good quality. The knee rolls are just big enough to give you support without being too restrictive. The best thing about this saddle is how easy it is to jump in. The seat is relatively flat and the knee roll is supportive which makes it really easy to get out of the saddle at the jump. It has greatly improved my position when jumping. I feel secure without being trapped. I have jumped anything from a crossrail to 3' oxers in it.
Dislikes: It was hard to oil at first, it was very light colored and stained very easily with anything I put on it. But eventually the color evened out and it looks fine. I also got the Wide tree, which I though would fit more different horses, but it is just TOO wide. It does not fit any TB's or thinner horses, only large warmbloods and drafts. I wish I had the regular tree. I also found the seat to be a little too hard after an hour long lesson, especially riding on the flat. I prefer soft cushy seats.
Quality: It is very well made. All stitching is tight an it is wearing very well. The leather on the flaps is not breaking in as much as I'd like. Its not cheap leather, but its not Crosby leather either, its right in between. Overall I would describe it as good quality. I've had it for 5 months and I'm still breaking it in (I only ride 2 hrs. a week).
Summary: I would definitely recommend this saddle for jumpers or hunters who want a great quality saddle at a reasonable price. Just make sure you get the right tree size. I don't think these are made anymore, but you can pick one up on Ebay.
