Purchase: I needed new stirrup irons and I love the jointed ones, but I could never afford the Sprengers. These looked interesting to me because they looked different and had a spring in them and a joint. They were only $45 at a State Line Tack store.
Likes: I absolutely love these! I love the very reasonable price I paid. The springs really do work, when you put pressure on the iron like in posting, they give a little. So you are not pushing against a solid surface, but one that moves. The foot bed is nice and wide and has grey rubber pads which keep your foot from slipping. I prefer cheese grater pads, but I didn't bother changing these because I like them so much. Besides the spring action, the joint still works to help with angle flexion. I can not ride in regular (non-jointed) stirrups anymore! I love theese!
Dislikes: There is really nothing negative I could find about them. To some people they might feel weird at first, but you get used to it.
Quality: They are very well made, and there are screws at the bottom so you can clean and replace all the parts if necessary! I don't think the Sprengers have that!
Summary: For such a low price these are a steal! I would definitely buy another pair of two. I wish more people knew about them. I have tried many different type of irons and these are the best for comfort and price!
