Purchase: I needed some tall boots for my first real show, but my extra wide calf made it very difficult to find something big enough. So I ordered Cavalier's from Adams Horse Supplies for about $130.
Likes: It actually fit my extra wide calf! It was very easy to put on because of the back zipper. I didn't have to buy boot pulls, boot socks or a boot jack to go with these. I likes the punched toe look and the overall look of the boot was very traditional. They were comfortable to wear and broke in easily after a few rides.
Dislikes: I had one big problem with them, they were too big! I ordered a size 10, XW calf, and I felt like I was wearing a size 11. All other size 10 shoes fit me great, so I know its not me. I was swimming in these, I could wear 3 thick socks and jeans inside by boots and they would still zip up! Great for winder layers, but I wanted a better fitting boot. Cavalier definitely screwed up the sizing on these. Try them on before you buy! Thats all I have to say.
Quality: They are very good quality for the price. The leather is nice and breaks in easy. Very beautiful to look at and look great in the saddle too. They held up well through a show season, before I had to sell them.
Summary: If you don't have a lot of money to spend, but need a nice looking boot for schooling and showing, this one might work for you. Just make sure it fits!
