Purchase: I purchased this saddle used on Ebay and paid $1,000 for it. 17.5 Inch saddle Regular tree
Likes: This is a very comfortable saddle! It is soft and squishy for my rear. The flaps are soft and easy to keep leg on the horse. Even my trainer likes to ride in it. The leather is very high quality, the balloon flaps are like those on my old PJ. Very nice to ride in. I feel very secure in this saddle and it has actually really helped me develop my seat. I used to be a big time knee pincher and am now able to sit! Nice balance, supportive but not so deep you feel like you are sitting in a valley.
Dislikes: Mine was about a year old when I bought it and it seems like the "memory foam" injected pannels are already kind of flat. I can push on the bottom and feel the tree so I use added back protection for my horse. I am not sure how to get it repaired. It is not like it can just be reflocked like a traditional wool stuffed saddle.
Quality: The quality of the leather is top notch. I compare it to the Butets in my barn. The stitching detail is lovely, even the billet straps are stitched as is the billet guard. This saddle boasts real attention to detail and quality.
Summary: I am very pleased with this saddle with the exception of the foam. Maybe it is supposed to feel this way, but I doubt it. I just add a high quality pad. I don't think anything can touch it for the price, even new.
