Purchase: I got this blanket new with tags for $72 from a dealer on eBay.
Likes: The blanket is well constructed, with heavyweight hardware in an attractive muted silvertone that's easy to manipulate even when you're wearing gloves. The fabric, which is waterproof and windproof, keeps my old pony warm and dry -- and he looks as cute as can be in the black-watch-type plaid! The skirt, deep enough to cover the pony's entire barrel, is made with long gussets to let him stride around unencumbered, and the wide tail flap helps keep his butt warm. The leg straps are comfy elastic with plenty of room for adjustment. The 64-inch blanket I bought is plenty roomy -- I'll be able to slip a second blanket beneath it if the weather turns truly frigid.
Dislikes: The only things I've found so far: (1) The surcingle straps are a little too long, even when adjusted to their shortest. (2) The fastenings on the surcingles don't seem to want to stay locked, even with T-Lock rubber washers (which, in a nice touch, are provided with the blanket), but I think an extra T-Lock on each fastener will do the trick. I'd have loved to get a heavier weight of fill (this blanket has 280 g), but, because the pony has access to a stall, a heavyweight rug wasn't imperative.
Quality: As I mentioned, the blanket is put together well: The seams are tight, and the webbing, fabric, fill, and hardware are of nice quality.
Summary: My pony is comfortable and looks great in this rug. It's an excellent bargain for the very reasonable price.
