Purchase: Bought at State line Tack, Fort Collins, CO for $29.95 plus tax for children's riding lessons.
Likes: I like the price. The harness is well made, and so is the helmet. Fits well with the additional pad inserts, like on a bike helmet. Like the removable liner that you can wash. Good deal for the price.
Dislikes: Wish it came in more than just black and white colors. And it would be nice if it were matte finish, rather than the shiny finish that shows dust.
Quality: Styrofoam covered by plastic for the construction. The harness is nylon and is adjustable. Comes with nylon coated foam inserts that stick to the velcro in the lining of the helmet.
Summary: I think this is a great helmet at a reasonable price. It's well made and approved by the Pony Clubs. It is perfect for kids for lessons and is nice that you can adjust the fit with the insertion of the pads. I didn't go with the Aegis helmet that I bought for my other child because the new dial fit system looked very easy to break. The older slide system was better made. We chose a helmet size small and are using the pads to help it fit perfectly.
