Purchase: I wanted to be able to leave the sliding barn door open to allow in some light and breezes, while keeping the horses out. After extensive web searches, I found this nylon webbing aisle guard which adjusts from 10 to 12 feet wide. I purchased it from Golden Royal Saddlery online for about $50 plus shipping.
Likes: Although I wouldn't leave this up as a barrier to horses unattended, I think it's a great way to keep inquisitive horses at bay while working in the barn with the doors wide open to allow the sunshine and breezes in. The nylon webbing appears to be constructed well and looks like it will stand up to some abuse.
Dislikes: It adjusts from 10 to 12 feet in width and I have 9 foot doorways. I had to tie knots in the webbing to shorten it enough. Also, I believe it was the first day it was installed, the herd witch and self-appointed one-horse demolition crew broke one of the snap hooks in half by trying to walk through the aisle guard. The snap hooks appear to be the weak point in the product.
Quality: Overall good quality nylon webbing and stitching, but weak snap-hooks.
Summary: I think this is a decent product and serves my purpose well, but it should be made with stronger snap-hooks and maybe more adjustability or more available sizes.
