Purchase: I bought this for my horse newly arrived in Northern England from Spain in November 2004.He had hardly any winter coat and was only 3 so needed as much protection as he could get!He'd never seen a rug before let alone worn one but seemed very pleased with its feel straight away.
Likes: It has stood up to torrential rain in two typical cold wet windy British winters and he has been warm and dry all the time. The only damage was to the zipped neck hood by one of his field mates-later models had Velcro which is more robust. The belly straps are great, it never slips or rubs. It cost £190.00. I have bought other Horseware products since and am very impressed with their durability and function. I wouldn't bother buying "cheaper" rugs as they just don't last or do the job. I get it dry cleaned and reproofed in the Spring and it's just about to come out of storage for a 3rd winter.
Dislikes: A bit expensive when you have NO kit for your new horse and have to get a complete wardrobe!
Quality: Very well made, no stitches have come undone and even his field mate (a real pest!) couldn't tear the ballistic nylon though he did manage to unravel the nylon zip on the neck hood,
Summary: Excellent product -you get what you pay for!
