Purchase: I rode in friend's saddle as a trail on a nice close contact saddle. The saddle had these stirrups on it and I though it was cool because I was going to get to ride in the Expensive stirrups. They retail at Dover Saddlery for $175.95.
Likes: These stirrups are awesome. I expected them to make me feel insecure and thought they would bend so much that my foot would slip out. No such luck. They bent just enough to accommodate my heels down position, and were very supportive. I didn't have to constantly check my heel to make sure it was correct, because I could feel it. Normally when I ride I know that my weight is in my heels because my foot goes numb. I'm happy to say they're were no pins and needles to work out of my toes afterwards. And Jumping was awesome. My knees felt really great afterwards too. I didn't even realise that they hurt after riding until I went back to regular stirrups. And they look a lot nicer then my peacock stirrups with the giant red rubber band along the outside.
Dislikes: The only thing I don't like is that aren't what I would consider safety stirrups. For a while I could not comprehend how they would let your foot go. However after careful consideration I realise they are just as safe as the peacock stirrups I use and they are much more comfortable. I also think that when I buy a pair I'll get the offset eye version to be kinder to my ankles.
Quality: Well I'm not an expert on stirrup construction, but they looked big and sturdy enough to last for many years of service. And they didn't look likely to rust.
Summary: These are very good stirrups for anyone. Especially if you do lots of work in shorter stirrups. Your knees will thank you. I do think however that you should have a very good effective leg position before you use them, because they are sort of a cheat for a supple elastic ankle.
