Purchase: I aquired this saddle on Ebay. It was brand new with the original tags and was being offered by a tack shop. I paid $406. Mine has a 16 1/2 inch seat.
Likes: I have been more than pleased with this saddle. The seat is relatively deep and one of, if not the, most comfortable saddle in which I have ever ridden. Its cushoined seat makes it perfect for trail rides and leisurely walks. Beyond that it has been great for all other flat work. The saddle has well padded knee rolls and makes contact a breeze. the knee rolls also limit the amount of pressure required by the legs.
The tree is medium and fits my tall TB with a flat back. It also fits several other horses in the barn including and older Percheron mare, and an Arabian pony used for lessons.
Dislikes: The long flaps tend to run near or beyond the length of many saddle pads and occasionally make it diffucult to initially position the girth thru the girth strap.
Quality: The saddle has a medium tree with significantly padded knee rolls, long flaps and a deep seat. It is appropriately designed for "all purpose" work. The leather is of high quality and has remained looking almost brand new with regular cleaning.
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone. It is comfortable, good looking, easy to care for, and appropriate for almost any discipline.
