Purchase: I've had many pairs of Ariat paddock boots, One I got at Equine Affair for $189 - they were not heritage - they were ariat's higher quality line in 2002. Two years after I got another pair for $115, and 9 months after $110. Last year I got off the high line and got the heritage for $89.
Likes: There is no comparison in comfort to Ariat paddock boots. The lace-ups feel like clouds, the Zip-ups fall just a bit in comfort. The leather is great as well.
Dislikes: Retail should be half what it is for the quality of construction. I was not impressed with the quality six years ago, and if anything, it has worsened.
Damages:
2 pairs: Heel stitching "exploded" on one boot
one of those pairs suffered from sole separation as well.
Upper separated from sole around the toe
Zipper broke, "is not fixable". after 3 mo use.
I don't believe I got fair use out of any pair, considering the cost.
Quality:
Summary: I kept buying the boots because of the comfort and stability, but my wallet suffers every time I have to replace them. It'll be a new brand for me from now on.
