Dressage Saddles

For Sale on eBay

Manufacturer: Barefoot
Model: London
Category: Dressage Saddles

Purchase: I paid around 900.00 for the saddle that I found on the internet

Likes: The fenders and /or leathers can be changed easily to accommodate whatever style of riding you are doing at the time. This is a very close contact treeless saddle that allows you to use your legs effectively.

Dislikes: I have a young " discombobulated" walking horse who can't decide what her legs are supposed to do. I decided to ride with no fibreglass pommel and filled the pocket with memory foam, thinking I was doing her a favor. I really liked the foam seat when she paced and raced, but when she quickly swerved sideways, I followed suit and hung off her side. The saddled rolled over and so did I when I rode in the arena training, and trail riding. It was not uncommon thing for people to drive by my arena and see me hanging off the side of my horse. She really became good at just stopping and waiting for me to get myself untangled and reset the saddle. Being a little slow minded at times it took awhile before I realized that maybe, just maybe if I put the proper fiberglass pomel insert back in place, that the saddle just might stay upright. So I did it and lo and behold...I have stayed upright for a few months now. The only problem I have now is trying to stay upright when she bolts forward and then screeches to a walk. The foam cantle is not much for support. When and if this mare ever decides what gait she is supposed to do I suppose the problem will disappear.( or I will)

Quality: It has very nice soft leather and the stitching etc. is very nicely done. It has a place for a fiberglass pommel that can be changed from wide to normal etc. The cantle of the saddle is basically foam.

Summary: I like the saddle and it definitely is good quality and very comfortable.
