Purchase: I bought these schooling tights online from Dover Saddlery. I paid 34.90 for them. I was looking for an inexpensive tight to wear for everyday riding and these seemed to fit the bill.
Likes: The fabric is a stretch cotton lycra- pretty good quality. Doesn't pill. Washes up good, doesn't shrink. Pretty good for hot weather, not too thick but not so thin that you get VPL. (visible panty lines!)
Dislikes: The fact that the seams ripped out the very first time I pulled them on!! and I am not a plump person either! Literally the seams ripped open as I put my foot down the leg!
I also don't like the fact that instead of RIDING, I was MENDING. I had to drag my serger out of the closet and completely re-stitch the pant seams. yes, it was a money saving idea, but not a time saving idea.
Quality: They used the wrong thread on these tights. Non stretch cotton to be exact. So when you stretch the fabric to put them on, the thread has no choice but to break, since it cant stretch. DUH. this would make the quality POOR don't you think?
Summary: If you own a SERGER, wait until these go on sale at Dover and buy them. No doubt they will get a lot of complaints from their customers (I certainly did) and so they will drop the price to get rid of them. Then you can sew them back together correctly and get a good pair of tights out of it. The MATERIAL is fine, its the stitching that sucked.
