Manufacturer: Cavello
Model: Simple Boot
Category: Horse Boots and Wraps

Purchase: I bought my paint of Simple Boots from White horse Training Center in Diamond Missouri for $99.00. My family was on a thanksgiving trail ride, and after I lost my easyboot original on the trail, I heard news that this place carried them. I drove about 45 minutes and found the place and there amazing stock of easy boot and Cavello boots. They didn't carry the easyboot epic (which is the one I was going to buy) but I did spot the Cavello Simple Boot. After examining and comparing for about 20 minutes, I bought it.

Likes: I was really hesitant at first that the boot would not stay on. However, it's done just the opposite. I tried to lose the boot through water and mud, and It never even came close. It does well at fast speeds, and quick turns, and does not cause slipping or stumbling at all. I also like how easy it is to put on. Defiantly easier that the easy boot. however, it still takes a while, at least for me. (I'm cautious about the velcro and the keepers and that it fits perfectly)

Dislikes: There were only a few things I found that I didn't like about the boot. The largest one would be that it rubbed the back of my horses pastern raw. However, I wrapped her pasterns with vet wrap and didn't have the problem again. We went riding for about 4 hours, so I'm sure on a shorty ride they would be fine. Also, they squeak when they get wet. Other than that, they are great.

Quality: The construction of the simple boot seems well built and sturdy. However, the velcro does scare me, and I hope it doesn't wear and become less sticky. However, because of the way of the keepers, I don't think it will be much of a problem. Also I wonder if the leather (I think its synthetic) will rub and peel off. But I haven't had a problem with it yet.

Summary: I bought these boots for some serious heavy trail riding on rocks and mud and they have served there purpose. I would recommend them for anyone who needs temporary shoes for riding. They wont be good for soaking because there is a drain in the front of the foot for water. However, I don't see a problem with leaving these on for long periods of time. I left the easy boot on my horse over night because of soreness and made her even more lame. I don't see how this Cavello boot would cause that problem though. I haven't experienced problems with sizing. I talked with the store owner and he said the sizings run small. She measure out to be a two, so I bought a one and it was fine. DO NOT use a easyboot sizing chart with this. A zero (like my horse) equals between a two and a three in simple boot, and that was not accurate with my horse. We ended up buying a 1 and it fit her fine. Overall a great boot.
