Purchase: Was recommended to me by a friend, I bought the Equispot at the local Farm Store and paid $12. I was sick of putting on fly spray daily.
Likes: The Equispot was easy to appy, the directions were clear, and it has more product than other similar spot on treatments, making for more coverage.
I first tried it on my grey Arab mare, who seems to attract more flies than the chestnut and bay horses.
Her face was black with flies. Within 5 minutes of applying the treatment, there was only 2 or 3 flies left. The stomping and the constant tail swishing stopped. I loved not having to spray daily, even with the expensive spray that supposedly worked and lasted for a week or two. It costed less than buying spray weekly.
Dislikes: It attracts dirt, being that it is oil based, so my mares (bay, chestnut and grey) get "dorsal" stripes.
Quality: Its obvious alot of testing went into the product, and it does its job well.
Summary: An excellent choice for owners of pastured horses, and those without the time to spray daily.
It doesn't get rid of every last fly, but I have never found a product that does (other than a sheet). It does a better job than any spray I have come across though, and I plan on sticking with the Equispot.
