Purchase: I bought this from a local tack shop for $80.
Likes: I bought these boots for their advertised 'ease of use'. They are a sport boot with only 1 strap. They were designed to fit a multitude of horse leg sizes, can be worn front or back and would be great for someone who rides more than one horse. I really like the color choices, I bought the leopard trim pair. They are very easy to apply and stay put with no problem.
Dislikes: They actually don't fit my Arab mare. The splint boot part is fine, the cup that supports her fetlock is too big and they fold and rub her. They would be great for a horse that has a larger fetlock or are not as fine boned. A stocky Quarter Horse or a tall Thoroughbred would be great candidates for this boot.
Quality: These are very well made and come with a 1 year unconditional guarantee. There is a flap of trim fabric on the bottom of the boot. One of mine tore away the first time I used it, but wasn't worried about it (I ride really hard!). It turns out that the flap is designed to keep the fetlock cup part of the boot from slipping out of the gap for the fetlock strap (discovered this on the next use). I called the company, sent it in and within a few days I had a brand new boot. Completely hassle-free, this company really stands by their product. The neoprene is thick and perforated for heat dispersal. The boot is very well made overall.
Summary: This is a well designed product. Unfortunately, the idea of a "fit-all" product is probably not possible. I really like these boots, they are excellent quality neoprene, have a nice splint support built in and great fetlock support. They are very easy to use and apply. They are also attractive and look really good on my horse. If I had larger boned horses, I would definitely use these boots on them. The pony size may be a better fit for my needs. The only reason I gave then a 4 is because of fit, These are nice boots and come with my recommendation.
