Purchase: I bought eight fl oz of the clear Absorbine Supershine hoof polish for when I was show a horse. I only paid $8.00 for it when I bought it from Country Supply.
Likes: I though I would like Absorbine hoof polish because I heard that Absorbine products were very good, but I found out the hard way that it is not. The hoof polish and sealer works all right. You have to put on several coats of it to get a "Supershine". The sealer part of if works because the horse’s hooves are very nice for a week or two after you apply it. One thing true about it is that it is very fast drying like it says. It also has an applicator attached to the lid so that you do not have to buy a brush to use.
Dislikes: The main thing that bothered me most was that you had to apply so many coats. When you are in a hurry at a show, you do not want to be applying so many coats. In addition, another problem was that the lid kept on getting stuck to the top of the jar when I tried to open it because I'm always a little messy with hoof polish. It may have come from me getting polish around the edge of the opening but you have to keep the jar up right at all times because it will leak.
Quality: The plastic jar is nice, but I wish they would have put and bigger applicator on the applier to make it a little easier to apply.
Summary: The bottom line is that this is not the greatest hoof polish. However, if you are patent and you are willing to apply many coats than this would be an okay product. I will plan to buy a different brand the next time I buy hoof polish though. It is just because the bad out weights the good.
