Purchase: I received a Gen X for Christmas 3 years ago. It was bought for me at the local tack shop for what I assume was around 1300.
Likes: I switched to english from western about 6 years ago. I just assumed that riding english meant being uncomfortable. How wrong I was!!! My gen x is by far more comfortable than any western or english saddle i have ever ridden in.
Dislikes: Like the other reviewer, my tree recently broke as well. I stumbled across this website in search of Pessoa's site to see if i can send it away to be fixed.
In all fairness I am rough on my saddles, and this one has taken a beating.
My stitching is also getting worn, but nothing very bad.
Quality: I had not previously ridden in a saddle with knee flaps, and was convinced to get on bc i could always take them out, but not add. I realized that without knee flaps I was making my job much harder.
I have also always been advised to buy a used saddle that is already broken in, the leather on my gen x is so soft and comfortable their were no break in pains on my part.
Summary: Great saddle!! My only warning is that the tree's may be slightly weak, seeing that i am the second review on this website with a tree problem.
All in all, I would recommend this saddle to anyone!
