Purchase: Dixieland Saddles. I was looking for a comfortable flex tree saddle for my gaited horse....and myself! The price was a very reasonable $900.00
Likes: After having three Tucker saddles and not really being comfortable in any of them, I began to look for a saddle to fit my gaited horse as well as be comfortable to me for trail riding. After speaking with Dixieland saddles and hearing about the careful, hand made quality, lighter weight, rounded skirt, Ed Steele flex tree available, I decided to take the "Dixieland plunge." Everything I was told by Cynthia at Dixieland was true. The saddle arrived and we were amazed at how meticulous the stitching, barb wire trim, and craftsmanship was. My horse immediately relaxed and was able to move out in his reach due to the flex tree allowing his shoulders to move correctly. Having been able to fit the "form fit" trees to my horse for the correct fit was definitely a plus! My hat goes off to Dixieland and their very reasonable priced, quality, hand made saddles! My horse and I are much happier now! Thanks Dixieland!!!
Dislikes: I have to honestly say that even after many, many long trail rides I LOVE THIS SADDLE!! I would not change a thing.
Quality: Quality leather, very precise stitching, trim is awesome, two tone color, padded seat, round skirt, three point hitch, lightweight of 24 pounds, and comfortable cantle height. The leather is hand oiled as the saddle is assembled and you do not have to worry about the finish.
Summary: If you want a custom saddle including color, leather weight, lining, skirt, trim, and stirrups from a place that does EXACTLY as they say they will, then Dixieland is the place to order your next saddle. Every time I called if I did not get an answer my call was returned immediately. I never felt rushed or pressured into buying this saddle. You will be very pleased.
