Purchase: I haven't acquired the saddle yet but my trainer has the saddle and I used it for a lesson. She bought it recently and paid 2700.00 dollars. I am not aware of the location it was purchased.

Likes: The Bates Innova saddle is a very well made and incredibly comfortable saddle. While being padded for comfort, it was not so padded that the rider could not feel the horse under him/her. The saddle is also very versatile! It comes with five different gullets that can be changed to fit any horse. The gullets range from narrow to wide. Changing them is as simple as unscrewing two latches, pulling velcro apart and slipping out the gullet to exchanging it for the proper size. ' If you purchase the Innova saddle, I would recommend the extended Contourbloc. I was amazed at how secure this saddle makes the rider feel. I am an adult student that had a very bad experience with a rather green, off the track horse. I tend to loose my cool when the horse that I am riding is overly energetic. During my first experience with this saddle, I rode a very excitable horse without any anxiety or fear. This was solely due to the comfortable, stable and secure feeling I had while riding in the Bates Innova saddle. Even though I am a jumper, I intend to purchase this saddle for pleasure riding because I am so impressed with it. If you sit in it, I am certain that you too will be a believer.

Dislikes: The sizing is different. The sizes are listed as 0, 1 and 2.

Quality: The Bates Innova saddle seems to be well designed. The features such as the exchangeable gullets, the ease with which they are exchanged, the radical Contourbloc system, and the CAIR panel are all evidence of that. The stirrup keeper is metal rather than leather. Besides being functional, that adds to the overall nice appearance of the saddle.

Summary: The Bates Innova Saddle totally changes the riding experience. Find one and try it. You will only be sorry if you buy something else.
