Purchase: I needed a saddle pad and bought this one from my local tack store. I paid around $36 Cdn.
The pad is made of primarily waffle weave material and foam with a 3 inch synthetic fleece border.
Likes: The waffle weave material seems strong. It's held up to lots of washing and use, with only a few minor pulls here and there.
The synthetic fleece brushes up nice (with a wire dog slicker!) after each wash. It looks like new.
Dislikes: The straps that secure it under the saddle are annoying. They're not long enough to hold the pad where it should be, and they end up sticking to the synthetic material on the underside of the saddle itself.
They would have been better off with just making one loop on either side for one of the billets to run through, plus a strap for the girth to pass under.
The foam is also compressing and doesn't offer as much protection as I'd like now.
Quality: Overall good.
Summary: Good for what you pay. I probably wouldn't buy this pad again... instead I'd opt for a synthetic fleece pad that stays thicker and softer, even after lots of use.
