Purchase: I purchased this saddle from a woman who bought it for her Fresian and only used it a few times since it was a bad fit. Her horse has a very swayed back and I needed it to fit my high withered TB mare. It was only $2600, quite a bit under the new price! It was worth every penny! It was stamped a 17" and 32cm. I measured this a 17.5: saddle, and I don't fit in a 17" saddle! The tree was a medium tree.

Likes: The most important factor in my saddle search was my own fit. I am a disabled rider and have weak legs, bad knees, and much back pain. I needed a saddle with a flap long enough that I could ride with a long leg and no stirrups without getting the top of my boots caught under the flap. On top of this, I needed very thick soft thigh blocks to stabilize my legs, but not hurt me knees, plus be far enough back to accommodate my longer leg. This saddle was PERFECT! It also had a very deep seat that helps place the rider in a true classical position. I felt completely secure in this saddle and it enabled me to finally ride again, despite all my recent physical disabilities. The saddle is made of top quality Italian leather that shows now wear and is easy to care for. The front billet is part of the knee roll and the back V billet moves freely. This saddle stayed in place very well and the gullet and panels were perfect for my horse. This is the best saddle of any kind I've had. in the past I've owned only Kieffer's, but none of them were acceptable for my physical problems so I had to try elsewhere. I kept a list and tried over 83 saddles to find this one!!

Dislikes: I have no dislikes. I only with it fit my new horse so I don't have to sell it. I have not found a replacement yet! If you are interested in my saddle, email BlueNoteFarm@hotmail.com. I used it only 6 months before moving and buying another horse. It's in wonderful shape! Finding a used Prestige Top for sale is very difficult! I will MISS this saddle!

Quality: The leather is of top quality!! The thigh rolls have a soft grippy leather and the seat a different grained leather that gives some friction, but doesn't stick you to it. All three types of leather can be easily cleaned and conditioned with the same products. No suede or special leather care! The hick leather panels have remained fairly soft and have not compressed flat like my Kieffer saddles did. The stirrup bars are recessed and never hurt my legs. The billets were even top quality and haven't stretched! The huge thigh blocks are padded mostly under the flap, but have soft padded leather on the lop flap that lies over it without getting out of place or looking odd. Thi9s saddle also is cut back for high withered horses and has plenty of room in the gullet for the spine movement, but above and to the side of the spine. I did take this saddle to a Prestige dealer and they said they tree can be adjusted a little, but not to the extreme shape I need it to be for my new odd shaped horse. NO saddle fits him. :-(

Summary: If you need a safe secure saddle to ride in, this is the one! It's beautiful enough to take in the show ring and comfortable enough to go on long trail ride. I know, I often did four hour rides in this saddle with no stirrups, and on a TB while being disabled!! This was also my first dressage saddle. My previous two were Kieffer all Purpose saddles since I did eventing before I became disabled. This is a good saddle to make the transition and encourage you to sit properly. Also, I DID jump in this saddle, with no stirrups. No problems! (except back pain) My horse also loved the saddle and she moved beautifully. Took her for the raced track to the world of dressage. LOVE IT!!! (I think you get my point now) :-)))))
