Purchase: I bought directly from Mary's Tack and paid $2,000.
Likes: The overall presentation of this saddle from a distance (only) was okay. The Sterling Overlay were the only thing on this saddle that was beautiful. Definitely beautiful sterling work.
Dislikes: Overall craftsmanship was very sloppy. The leather tooling was very sparse in some places, not even tooled in all places it should have been tooled for a fully-tooled saddle. Up close, there was nothing straight or even about the craftsmanship of this saddle. I was very dissatisfied and could not get my money back, even contacting them within one week of receiving the saddle and it was never even tried on my horse.
Quality: Very poor craftsmanship. The saddle was put together completely crooked. The imaginary line from the horn clear back through the lacing on the back of the skirts was crooked. The skirts were longer on one side than the other side. The leather conchos that the sterling conchos rest on were hand-cut out and all the scallops were cut very crooked, creating a very sloppy round shape, making them all different sizes.... the little leather pieces with sterling tips that were under all the conchos were all different lengths, and the tips were put on very sloppily.
Summary: This is the sloppiest made saddle I've ever purchased for this price and caliber of a show saddle that was meant to be used in Class A breed shows. Extremely disappointed and they don't stand behind their product...once out the door, if you are dissatisfied, even with an unused product, they will not take it back.
